Mrs Dickens talked to the Eastbourne branch of the Dickens Fellowship at their lunch to celebrate Charles's 214th  birthday. After she had set the record straight, members called Annie Elliot's performance 'excellent'. They said that  everyone in the room found the dramatic readings from her book fascinating adding - 'We didn't want to miss a single word.' One member of the audience called Annie 'a very talented lady who kept us enthralled with her presentation on the extraordinary life of Charles and Catherine Dickens.  Brian Lancaster gave the vote of thanks on everyone's behalf and said: 'How privileged we are to have you as our guest speaker. You got right into the character of Mrs Dickens. Your book sounds really interesting and the extracts were very illuminating. We look forward to reading more and wish you every success with the launch.'
